I Create with iPads

My students need these two Apple iPad Minis, cases and screen protectors so they can link art and technology on a daily personal basis.

My Students

"Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success." Pablo Picasso This is my plan. I believe linking art and technology in my student's daily life will lead them to success.

My students come from a small town environment.

Many are underprivileged. Our school strives to infuse the arts into their core learning at every level. Our Kindergarten through Second grade students visit art museums each year, view opera performances at school and attend dance performances as part of this experience. They exhibit their art at a World Famous museum each year and at local art galleries. In recent years I have taken my after school classes to the computer labs to venture out into art in that realm. The experience was invigorating for the students. Many returning each year for this class. During the school day; however, there is not a way to take my classes to the computer lab as it is in use by the computer classes. My art students need these two iPads as a way to connect what we are learning in class to the broader world of learning that technology allows.

My Project

We need these two Apple iPad Minis, cases and screen protectors so they can link art and technology on a daily personal basis. With the use of these two iPads my students will be able to access websites where they can learn about artists, art methods, styles. and ultimately create their own art. There are wonderful interactive sites for my art students which have a great quality and diversity of learning activities that are very engaging and fun. When students are enjoying what and how they are learning, the experience and knowledge will become part of them.

By getting these iPads into my students hands on a daily basis for learning, a link is created between technology and fun.

My goal for these children is that long after they have left my art room, they will still want to continue learning about art and they will go to the sites we have visited to continue their learning instead of going to the usual video or game sites. I want their memories of learning about art on the iPads to remain with them and to propel them on to success. Thank you!
