My Students
All my lessons and grades are in digital forms; and my students are constantly seeking to know their grades so that they are proactive in improving those grades. Some of my students have some difficulties following me from where they sit. Yet others come late or miss some lessons for various reasons.
Currently, I am responsible for teaching AP Calculus, Physics, and Algebra and Trigonometry in a high need neighborhood in New York to students who aspire to become engineers and scientists.
It is undeniable that technology is a tool of necessity in education. Integrating technology in my classroom would help my students not only better understand the concepts of the above mentioned disciplines, but also prepare them for their higher education in college.
My Project
With this iPad, my students will be able to check their grades at the beginning and the end of class; also, since my lessons are all stored in digital forms, those students that miss a lesson can go back and copy their notes to help them catch up. Most importantly, those students that have a hard time following the lesson from where they sit, will not have to move to the front. They can use the iPad, which will have all the notes of the lesson, to follow and efficiently participate in the lesson.
This iPad will address many issues in my classrooms so that my students can focus on what is more important while in class.
In soliciting this equipment, my goal is to serve someone in need; but no matter how ambitious I am about helping my students, I can only do so much.
