Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are fourth graders in a low-income school district in Phoenix, Arizona. Our school is a Title One school, which provides free breakfast and lunch.
As my students continue to grow in academics, I strive to provide them with the tools necessary to help them build their skills in math and reading through practice and exposure to helpful websites.
As technology has grown, so has the programs our school is using. The students work during their independent time on websites which help aid them in learning. Many of the websites reteach the skill learned in class. My students are in need of individual headphones to help them focus and learn.
My Project
Currently, my students are using headphones that they hold to their ears because the earbuds do not fit or are uncomfortable. In addition, the headphone wires are easily broken just by taking them in and out of the computer.
Having a solid working headphone which fits over their head and can be adjusted would make listening ideal.
Our class uses many different websites that work on phonics, reading, and math skills. Listening to directions, reteaching videos, and their own work are crucial in their educational journey. Please help provide our students with a reliable pair of headphones that make learning enjoyable.
