This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in the 3rd-5th grade. Each student in my classroom has an Individualized Education Plan. My classroom is filled with diverse learners. Many of my students are also English Language Learners, and they are learning English as their second language.

Our school is a Title I, low-income school.

This means that at least 85% of our students are on a free and/or reduced price lunch program. We are located on the Southwest Side of Chicago, Illinois. We have a very large Hispanic population in our school.

My Project

My students will use the headphones on the Chromebooks we have in our class during center rotation on a daily basis.

Your donation to my classroom will help not only help increase my students academic progress, but also increase their confidence in the classroom.

One of the ways my students will use the headphones is to listen and watch a variety of STEM lessons on the Chromebook. Our school is focusing on integrating math and science throughout the curriculum. The lessons and videos online will help my students think and act like an engineer in the classroom.

The headphones will also be used for various reading online resources where students can go to increase their phonics and reading comprehension skills.
