My students are excited about the world around them! They are open to new experiences, and they are not afraid to explore new things. They are just now embarking on the incredible journey to who they will ultimately become.
As kindergartners, they feel proud to be at "big school," and they want to make me, their parents, and most of all themselves, proud.
They are leaders and friends. They strive for independence but need reassurance. They come every day to learn, to share, and to teach each other about what it means to be a part of a community.
My students are just finding their voice. Through enriching language experiences, they can use that voice to share their feelings, their knowledge, and their opinions with other people. The Round Colors of Nature writing table will provide a dedicated space for the students to focus on their writing; while, the Classic Birch Table top writing center will ensure that all the necessary materials are right at their fingertips. The classroom supply caddies will ensure each table in the classroom has different types of writing materials, such as pencils, markers, and colored pencils. Students love to use dot art painters to create one of a kind pictures. The manila drawing paper and red baseline newsprint provides them with different types of paper to use to write. The ink sets can be used for stamping letters and words in literacy centers. All these materials are essential to providing them with the writing tools they need to realize that: "I can write!"
They are young, but their voices deserve to be heard.
Through writing, they can share with others information, narrative stories, and opinions about things.
When students are allowed to write, they are opening up their innermost thoughts to others. Their words are priceless, and a window into the wonder of a child's mind. Given the opportunity to express their feelings, personal narratives, and opinions can boost their confidence as learners. Writing can ignite in them a love for words.
