My students are the best little people in the world! They come from diverse backgrounds. They come to school ready to learn. We have a rigorous curriculum for Kindergarten in New Jersey. My students never let me down and always exceed my expectations.
Although my students are academic rock stars, I am most proud of the kindness they show each other.
From day one of school, I emphasize that kindness supersedes everything we do in Kindergarten. Creating a kind environment in the classroom assists students in all their endeavors throughout the year. We work hard on what respect and good citizenship look and sound like in our classroom. It is my greatest hope that they carry these good character traits out into the world and make it a brighter place for us all!
My Project
With an iPad that is dedicated solely for use in our classroom, it can be used on a daily basis to help enhance learning. The students will use it to practice skills and meet learning objectives all while staying thoroughly engaged. Using new apps and ideas, the students can collaboratively work on projects that they never would have been able to access without this technology! When a child practices skills on technology, the technology guides the child by helping them find the correct solution. When the ratio is 1 teacher: 25 students, technology can be so helpful in a child's independent learning. In addition, the iPad would be used to instruct small groups and assess learning in a time efficient manner.
If this project is funded, it would help to bring my classroom and my awesome students new opportunities that only technology can bring.
The educational apps that the students will utilize bring them fun activities with meaningful feedback. The ease of assessment will free the teacher to spend her time where it belongs - on instruction! Technology enhances the learning environment and my little learners deserve that!
