My students need to examine, touch, smell and feel real objects from our world, such as fossils, geodes, magnets and prisms, when they are trying to understand our scientific concepts.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Allred's classroom raised $554
This project is fully funded
I teach in a vibrant inner-city elementary school where most students come to school ready to love science!
However they also come to school without a great deal of background or practical knowledge. They sometimes do not even understand what they are reading because they have never seen a real prism or fossil, for example.
I am requesting a variety of science materials for the students to hold and examine in detail. I am asking for objects such as lens, prisms, magnets, fossils, and different examples of rocks for the students to use as they explore our scientific concepts. I am also asking for a big screen microscope for students to share as they look at slides of plants and animals.
You will make it possible for my students to really make and touch a rainbow! I want to create excitement when my students study science and to develop a life-long love of science and learning.
