My Students

My students come from various backgrounds. Their school is comprised mostly of students who receive free or reduced-price lunch. Some of our students do not have basic personal items for themselves, and we work as a team to provide for these students. They are sweet and respectful students, but they need to be shown love from their role models at school. They attend an elementary/junior high school that is made up of K-8th grade students. Our students struggle with getting supplies for everyday use, and we struggle to provide manipulatives in the teaching of concepts due to a very limited budget.

My Project

My students come from low socio-economic backgrounds and many can not afford the basic supplies that they need. I often supply these materials using my own resources and money, but there are times when even I am tapped out.

Students can learn better when they are not worrying about having all of their needed supplies.

The ability for these students to come to school without fear of being humiliated because they can't afford supplies is critical in their ability to be successful. The simple things such as giving a child in need a pencil shows that you truly care for them.
