I am a second grade teacher in a specialized district that teaches students with a wide variety of disabilities. My students are second graders who are autistic. My students need to be taught all concepts multiple times and in various ways for them to learn a concept. The children must practice learned skills daily, so they can maintain them. The students learn many skills like brushing teeth, potty training, addition, subtraction, spelling, reading, writing, and turn taking. They all enjoy learning new concepts in multiple ways.
My Project
Starfall, Brainpop, and Flocabulary are three programs my students use every day. These programs help introduce and review concepts related to all areas of life. Addition, subtraction, hygiene, sharing, science, dancing and many other topics are covered in these resources. This will help each student meet and exceed their long and short term goals. If every child is able to move along at his or her own pace, they will more successful in learning new concepts. These tablets will be used year after year and touch so many children's lives. Please help and encourage children to learn through technology. Thank you so much.
