This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school. Fifty-nine percent of our school is on free and reduced lunch. Many students qualify for take-home food bags for the weekend. A majority of our school population speak English as their second language. Students come to school eager to learn, but lack the supplies necessary to assist in their education. Our district is limited on what they can provide for the teachers for materials and supplies as well.

Students deserve to have a classroom where they can be comfortable and have access to the materials necessary to succeed.

Second graders need to learn how to organize their learning and work spaces, but also need lots of opportunity to move around and flex all their muscles (including their brains).

My Project

I am working with distance learners. I need a document camera that I can use with my chromebook so I can share books and written materials with students.

I want to be able to model things in writing that do not come across as clear just using technology.

This document camera will allow me to connect to my chromebook and utilize whether I am at home or in the school building. It will allow me to show children literature instead of sharing a read aloud that lags on the computer. Students can see me write things legibly.
