My Students

I am a speech/language therapist serving students at both an elementary school and an early pre-school learning center. Most of my students have special needs. One of the major components of my job is to help my students develop crucial early literacy skills. These are the foundational skills for all future learning!

Most of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes.

They often begin school having very little exposure to books and literacy, thus resulting in poorly developed pre-literacy skills. We usually have to start from "scratch" with many of our students. Most of my sweet babies are so very eager to learn that with the right tools and time, they can get on the right track to a bright academic future!

My Project

My students need hands-on materials that will address specific weak skill areas. Activity sets like the Alphabet Learning Locks, the Alphabet Picture Stickers, and the Rhyming Family Pack will engage my students in fun activities while helping them to strengthen crucial pre-literacy skills.

Research shows that the higher the level of engagement, the more learning that will take place.

Due to the fact that many of my students have special needs, they are already at risk for learning difficulties. These materials enable me to have more "tools" in my "teaching tool box" to help reach all of my students. Teaching involves finding the right thing that works for the right child. These materials will help me to get all of my students on the path to academic success!
