This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Worksheets, worksheets, worksheets! Do you remember "learning" through doing worksheet after worksheet? Let's make learning fun through games and activities!
My kids attend a Title I school in South Carolina.
They are a very active group of children who need stimulation and hands-on activities to engage them in learning. Our school makes every effort to avoid worksheets so that their "work" is fun and engaging!
My Project
These learning centers and games will be used during literacy center independent work time and during small group instruction. The fluency and reading comprehension games will greatly benefit my students. Once kids know how to read the words, the next step is to get them to be better readers through reading fluently and comprehending texts.
These materials will help my kids develop as stronger readers.
Being a strong reader in first grade determines their success all of the way though school. I will be able to use these materials for many years to impact the learning and reading skills of hundreds of kids!
