My students walk into kindergarten so eager to learn and grow! They attend a Title I school in Virginia, which means most of the children come from single-family homes who are doing everything they can just to make ends meet.
When they come to school, it is my job to provide them with a warm, nurturing, safe place to learn.
This year, my students are all learning 100% virtually, so I strive to provide them access to materials that they may not have available to them at home. With your donation, I can help my students become successful kindergartners!
My Project
My Kindergarteners are making awesome progress with their knowledge of letters, sounds, sight words, and concepts of print.
They now are beginning to apply reading strategies to figure out unknown words and many are ready for Level C Guided reading books!
They now are telling me and their parents, "I can read, I can read!"
In order to become successful readers, my students need access to large volumes of high quality texts on their individual reading level. To help my virtual learners be successful, I am requesting Level C Fountas and Pinnell guided reading books to have at home and to use during guided reading time.
