it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My project, I Can Read Even More Now! Is a replay of one of my most impactful projects I have ever had within my kindergarten classroom, therefore I would love to add to my independent reading leveled book bins and expand our classroom library. Over the years I have worked hard to build up a diverse classroom library. It has a variety of genres and character book bins. The children love to sit and read the pictures and tell the stories. Library time is great.
The one area of my library that really needs help is the independent reading leveled book bins.
My students would benefit from a Phonics Skill-Building Book Sets - Complete Library. Independent reading improves comprehension for students and helps them develop their vocabulary. Also, independent reading can improve fluency by allowing students regular time to practice reading.
If my classroom had more level A-C fiction and non-fiction books, and phonics based books the children could have even more books to choose from and read in partnerships.
After weeks of the children using this new addition to our library, I know for a fact that these books work. There is nothing better than to hear a young student get excited stating, “I can read.” These books motivative and encourage early readers to love reading.
