Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As my Kindergarten students start school, for many this is their first time in school and many don't have access to books. I want my students to be surrounded by books and develop a love of reading. My kindergarten students love to listen to stories and then go looking for book to read. I want to organize our books into these Jonti Craft Mobile library carts so that my students can easily find the books. This book organizer is great since the books can be displayed on the front cover. This makes it easier for my students who are beginning to read to select their books.
I want my students to develop a love of reading and having a book nook with an organized library storage unit will draw my Kindergarten students in and begin that love for books.
Students will be able to move the Mobile Book Organizer to different locations in the room or outside of the classroom and read books.
Students will take ownership and learn how to clean up and put books where they belong. This will help them become independent learners and helpers.
Having a mobile in our class and being able to move it to different places in the class is a bonus. Students can move the mobile to an area where a group of students can read together. Having two sets will help more students have access to the books and I can display more books in the carts and not be limited.
