Our kids’ creativity has no boundaries. They are inquisitive. They are filled with hope. We want to take this energy and bring the future to them so they can experience it first hand. We love to watch our children manipulate and investigate interesting materials and environments. They are future world travelers, engineers, scientists, and educators.
I have a single gender, pre-k classroom of 4 and 5 year old boys.
They love creating and having collaborative conversations during centers. I know being able to provide another level of creativity for them will bring coding, critical thinking, and inquiry learning to life through creative collaborative activities for their minds.
We live in an urban setting with 100% of our students on free or reduced lunch. Our students come from a variety of different ethnic backgrounds. We believe they can be the kind of children who grow up to be creators and leaders who impact others. Yet, for many of them, this neighborhood in Cleveland is all they have ever known. This is a reality for our students every day. We want to show them there is so much out there to explore and that they can achieve it.
CLE Pre-K: Future Coders
My students need LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 Core Sets to bring coding, critical thinking, and inquiry learning to life through creative collaborative activities.
Question, tinker, discover, dream, hope.

We want to change the game. We believe if we change the game, we can change our kids path. Help us with that.
My Project
Learning to code and use the Legos will be a cross curricular tool that will encompass numerous domains for our Pre-K kids. From STEM to literacy to social emotional skills, we will be able to utilize the LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 in multiple subject areas. We can use the LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 to find to develop algebraic thinking and geometry in math, build writing, language and reading comprehension in literacy, all while laying a firm foundation in STEM. In short, programming can be taught alongside every subject in the Pre-k classroom.
