I Can Listen I Can Read

Help me give my students a listening center in the classroom, it is very important for them to hear modeled reading as much as possible.

My Students

My students are thriving readers and still excited to learn and grow! They are very active and smart. They work extremely hard, but also at a fast pace. Although they work fast and complete tasks quickly, they are surprisingly efficient!

I teach at a Charter School in the Lehigh Valley in PA, despite all of their hardships outside of the classroom, it never dulls their light to learn.

They truly come in every day with the excitement to learn. We strive every day to make it a great day of learning! I want them to know that I believe in them, and show them that they have the power to grow and overcome mountains if they always put their best foot forward.

My Project

Students may not get to listen to stories at home and I would like to provide them with as many literature opportunities in my classroom as I can. These materials will aid my students in being able to listen to different titles in literature while in centers. Students will be able to hear modeled reading and follow the words in the stories.

Listening to the modeled reading of stories will help them with tracking their print and comprehending the story.

Students will be able to look at pictures and words in their own book while listening which will help them comprehend the story. Listening to modeled reading consistently will help my beginning readers hear great stories and start their road to becoming great readers!
