Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students will attend a social skills class on weekly basis, and those that need it, will get morning check ins. Students will be allowed to take time outs, when needed, and sit in the safe corner (bean bag) and use books and pictures to identify their mood and learn appropriate behaviors. Additionally, students have access to some sensory materials, music, art supplies, etc. Many students have come to school this year, never having attended any formal/informal learning environment. As a result, they lack productive school behaviors that would support their learning and interactions with peers and staff. I am starting a social skills class and will be providing a quiet space where students can safely regain control, learn coping skills and return to their learning environment.
