This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have 17 unique and diverse students in my First Grade classroom. Every year, I watch these students develop into great readers and succeed in their education, and watching them grow very rewarding! As a teacher in a low-income charter school, I know that my students come to me from different life situations.
It is incredible that they come together and synergize with all their differences and form a classroom full of love, friendship, and great leaders.
This year, I have been blessed with sweet and caring First Graders who are always doing their best to succeed and become leaders in the classroom. The students are always encouraged to learn and try their best to have a positive attitude, especially when discouraged. In our classroom, we know that success happens when we are trying our best, even when we make mistakes.
My Project
Headphones are part of my students' everyday use. At the beginning of the school year, students were given big bulky headphones rather than smaller ones for their heads. My students' current headphones have been used many years prior, and as a result, they are dwindling. Even though I allow students to bring headphones from home, not all students can afford them. We will be using these headphones for individualized computer lessons and our reading program that the students do daily on the computer. These headphones will help my students from getting distracted during our Chromebook lessons. We will also be using these headphones during our state tests that the students take 3 times a year.
I hope that investing in excellent and comfortable headphones will increase student productivity.
Your donation will also gift my students headphones they can call their own.
