Our room is full of diverse learners. Students are from many backgrounds, with many interests. There are students who are brand new to this country and many others who speak a language other than English in their home. There are students with intense feelings they are trying to find constructive ways to share and other students with so much energy they don't know how to contain it.
Students in third grade are making a huge leap academically.
They are transitioning to become very active and engaged readers and writers. For some students, especially those easily distracted by the natural sounds of a room, having options to maintain focus is essential for their academic success.
My Project
We have about a dozen chromebooks in our classroom that are great, but are limited in their use without the headsets that are necessary to go with them.
Students can work on differentiated assignments from spelling to math to vocabulary when they have a means for listening to instruction and responding to the applications they are working with.
We are excited about the possibilities students will have to engage in some great curriculum online with the use of these headsets!
The extra-large post-its are specifically to support our new reading and writing workshop curriculum. It is necessary to have q large format for students to see when charting during our mini-lessons.
