I Can Do It! Technology Resources for Resource Kids
Help me give students with learning difficulties the opportunity to learn to use technology, access information, and develop the skills they will need with the resources a Chromebook will provide.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I love the uniqueness of my students! Brilliant, bold, confident, and creative- struggling, timid, and unsure. Each one with a challenge that has kept them from being able to perform academically like their peers, whether it is learning to control behaviors, stay focused on tasks, or meet educational goals.
We celebrate every student who has developed the skills and strategies they need and no longer requires specialized instruction- and do everything we can to bolster those who still have a ways to go.
Every single one can learn, will learn, and my job is to provide what they need academically, socially, and emotionally to be successful in their elementary school experience and on throughout their lives.
My Project
In today's world if you are not tech-savvy you are automatically a huge step behind. My students with learning disabilities already have a disadvantage of having to struggle to master what other students learn easily in reading or math.
With the addition of Chromebooks to supplement instruction and assessment, my students will have practice and gain confidence in their abilities to access technology.
Chromebooks will be used by the students to access information, write responses and essays, and utilize some of the programs designed to help fill the gaps.
As an added benefit, student's confidence will grow as they will be able to successfully navigate and perform their best on the required standard based testing on computers.
