My students are in a self-contained special education classroom. They are often told what they can and cannot become. When I ask students what job do you want when you are older, many respond by saying “work at McDonalds, work at Wal-Mart, or be a YouTuber.” Students need to know, the education they are getting today will help them on their career goals. Adding easy to read books about careers will help students to understand they can be anything they want to be. Furthermore they will have concepts that what they are learning today will help them achieve their goals.
These careers books will open students minds to working as engineers, teachers, and police officers and motivate students to take classroom studies more seriously.
