I Beg Your Garden

Help me give my students plastic saucers as a cement mold, glass mosaic pieces, and glass nippers to create beautiful and unique garden mosaics in our new pollinator garden.

My Project

Last Spring the AP Environmental Science class worked together to build a pollinator garden on our school's gangway! Pollinator habitats can beautify your space, increase native biodiversity, increase pollination services and biological control of “pest” insects, and provide community engagement and learning opportunities.

My sculpture students will make the pollinator garden more accessible by creating fifteen 12inch mosaic stepping stones which will allow students to keep up with the weeds, care for the garden, and enjoy the Artwork !

My sculpture students will use the plastic saucers as cement molds, the colorful mosaic glass pieces to create their designs, the glass nippers to shape their small glass pieces, and the stone sealant to weatherproof the stepping stones.

The addition of the stepping stones in the pollinator garden will give students an outdoor space to study, eat, and socialize right here in the middle of Englewood.
