My Students

I have a wonderful group of first grade students who love to learn new things every day.

My students face many personal struggles yet come to school everyday ready to learn.

They know that our room is a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where we can have discussions, disagreements, and problem solve as a team!

All of my students plan to attend college in the future. We frequently talk about the path we need to follow over the course of the next 12 school years in order to reach our college goals. Some of my students expressed their interest in having careers as judges, nurses, game designers, and firefighters.

My Project

Our students LOVE to work hard and show what they know. They are also constantly showing empathy and support to each other academically and socially. In recognition of hard work and great attitudes from our learners we love to provide rewards and incentives.

Students can earn trips to the treasure box for demonstrating positive attitudes through actions including being kind to others, following directions, putting forth their best effort and meeting academic and behavior goals.

Students can choose prizes like Smilemakers Animal Toys, Smilemakers Groovy Pencils and Notepads, and much more. While our students already love to work and make good choices, a trip to the treasure box helps to show them how hard work pays off. When our students can see the benefits of their hard work and great attitudes their confidence and happiness skyrockets, creating a classroom culture of academic excellence and community!
