This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I want my students to love writing! I want to make writing something they look forward to everyday.
I teach 25 energetic, ready to learn kindergartens.
For most of my students this is their first school experience and I want for it to be a memorable one! Kindergarten sets the foundation for the rest of their educational careers and your donation will help me maximize their experiences. Our school is located in South Los Angeles, CA. We are a 100% Title 1 school, which means all of our students qualify for free meals.
My Project
I want to create a writing center in my class. A place where my students can have easy access to the materials they will need; like paper, pencils, pens, a stapler, and a date stamper. I want it to be organized and inviting. The chart paper will allow me to model the writing lessons before they get started, whole group. The color paper will allow their published papers to stand out and be read.
My students are new to writing.
This project will help me make writing fun and meaningful. Their first experiences in writing will guide them in their future writing experiences. I want my students to feel like authors!
