Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There are many books written by American authors that are translated in Spanish that can be enjoyed by our Hispanic student population. Some of our students who are refugees do not have the resources to have books at home. By providing books in the school ibrary, they now are able to check out a book and take it home to read in their home language. It is the goal of the grant to purchase 'home run' books that will be accessible in the school library for our growing Hispanic student refugee population. The grant will also allow the purchase of books in English written by Hispanic American authors. All students can read in their home language and feel like their language and culture is acknowledged and honored.
