This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My project will give students shampoo, conditioner, and hairbrushes in personal hygiene kits to build healthy routines and teach self-care.

Many students lack these essentials at home, so through our lessons, they’ll learn how proper hygiene supports their health and confidence.

We’ll help students “see the world through another’s eyes” by imagining what it’s like not to have these basics, using role-play and reflection to foster empathy.

Then they’ll ease others’ struggles by assembling and sharing kits, practicing caring, respectful communication.

We’ll measure success through simple before-and-after surveys, teacher observations of kind behaviors, and weekly student reflections on how they helped others.

By combining hygiene skills with compassion activities, this project supports students’ cleanliness, confidence, responsibility, and sense of belonging, helping them grow into caring, capable members of their community.
