My Project

Imagine going to school with inadequate access to personal hygiene products. Learning becomes an obstacle and barrier to success when students are not feeling their freshest. Middle school students from urban populations with limited access to personal hygiene products and necessary resources are less likely to be attentive in class, perform well in school, and show up each day.

How often do we hear cases of students who skip school because they lack the basic necessities that many of us take for granted?

Lack of access to personal hygiene products such as shampoo, soap, deodorant, body lotion, and toothpaste can hinder a student's ability to learn and pay attention in class. Healthy bodies should not be a privilege for some students; instead, access to the basic should be a fundamental right available in all schools.

Sadly our students come to school each day lacking the basic necessities that are needed to make them productive and positive students. Breaking down the personal hygiene barriers in class will allow all students the opportunities to learn and grow feeling confident and clean. Please help us achieve our goal of creating a closet of personal hygiene products that our students can access when needed.
