Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an amazing group of students. I teach Special Education Adult Transition Program (12+). My students are learning to be positive active participants in the community. They are learning the rules of the road and how to navigate through town using different modes of transportation.
My students are learning to have jobs, budget, grocery shop, and household cleaning.
Everything we get to help improve real-world learning the more my students will gain to be productive members of the community.
My Project
My students are young adults. Most have trouble with self esteem, hygiene and other needs. One area of need that has come up with my young female students is the hygiene needs and make up when holding a job. They often ask what does appropriate makeup look like and how do you use it. We have spent several lessons learning about hygiene and makeup and the students need real life practice. I also have a few students who would like to look into becoming makeup artist but are wondering if they even like to do other students makeup.
By getting these items it will allow the student a safe practice area to try makeup in a safe place.
