Hygiene Kits and Care Closet

Help me give my students self-care and hygiene products. Often, children in my community do not have the products they need to keep themselves clean, healthy, and safe. I want to make sure my care closet is stocked.

My Project

As I look forward to next year, I made a list of highly sought-after items that should be stocked in the school's Care Closet and items that should be a part of hygiene kits. These are products my students often do not have at home.

Hygiene kits are given out during our school's 5th-grade puberty lesson.

We like to include, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss. I found a variety of deodorant sticks to offer. Whatever is extra I will keep in the school's Care Closet.

Self-care items my students needed often were body wipes, deodorant wipes, hair ties, combs/brushes, feminine products, and nail clippers. I talk a lot with my students and groups about self-care. These items are often what we talk about.

Thank you for helping me provide much-needed self-care and hygiene products for my students. This greatly boosts self-esteem and a sense of belonging.
