Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Growing up can be tough - and it can be even tougher when you may not have the supplies you need at home to stay healthy, clean, and prepared.
At our school, we keep cabinets stocked with extra clothes, food, personal hygiene supplies, and more.
We know that it can be almost impossible to focus on school work when you are worried about how you appear to your friends and peers. Many of our students also have their first period during the school day. Being able to provide supplies and guidance to a student who is going through that and them knowing that is something we can provide makes a huge difference in their first experience.
While it may seem like a small thing to have access to a pad, deodorant or underwear, we know that it matters to our kids because of how often they ask and our families' appreciation for this support.
