Help me give my students hygiene kits, to not only meet our school's health goal for this year but to also teach our new immigrant and asylum students good hygiene practices.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our hygiene kits last year were a hit! So much so, that we decided to use the same health goal this year!
Not only did our teachers benefit (less middle school body stink in the classrooms), but also our students, especially newcomers/immigrants, who had different hygiene practices in their home countries.
Our phy ed teacher went through the kit components during every middle school phy ed class. He reviewed the contents, what the function of each product was, how to use, and why it was important. Each student then received their own kit to take home. The best part was teaching all students without singling any one student or group out and reminding them of good hygiene practices. Win-win!
