My Students

My students come from low income households, but they have a zeal for learning. Although they may have not had much exposure to people, places, and things outside of their own city, they are eager to experience things when the opportunities present themselves.

My Project

The ability to take care of personal hygiene is something that can be taken for granted. Unfortunately, I have some students who have come to school without their hair combed or teeth brushed and some who have been musty.

Do you know how difficult it can be for a student to focus in class when they haven't properly washed or handled their personal hygiene?

I have experienced this, and the look of embarrassment on their faces is something that I want to prevent.

Please help me to create personal hygiene kits, or Hygiene Hideaways as I call them, that will allow individual students a discreet way to take care of their personal situation without others knowing.
