This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We all remember being teenagers and how important it was for us to feel clean, smell clean as well as feel safe. This project would help ease some of the anxieties around hygiene challenges that our students face. Many of our students face housing insecurities, so having access to running water on a daily basis is sometimes a challenge. The towelettes will come in handy when students do not have access to a daily shower. Because our students are adolescents, the pimple patches will come in handy on the daily as well.
In addition to housing insecurity, our campus does not have a proper gym dressing room or showers.
Therefore, post physical education class, many students desrire to feel clean and smell good. So, again, the towelettes and the deodorant, would be very helpful.
This project aims at helping students feel safe, loved and cared for. We would like to be able to offer these basic essentials to them if they need them.
