it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am writing to seek your support for an essential initiative aimed at improving the hygiene and overall well-being of our students and their families at our school. As the school social worker, I have observed a significant need for basic hygiene products among our students, many of whom come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Being a school social worker, it is my duty to provide materials to students and families and my school is lacking hygiene products. If families are displaced, it is important to get them essential items while they are trying to get back on their feet.
Part of my social work program is designed to provide students and their families with necessary hygiene products, such as soap, shampoo, combs, toothpaste, toothbrushes, menstrual products, and hand sanitizers.
These items are crucial for maintaining health and preventing illness, which directly impacts students’ ability to focus and succeed academically. Many of our families are not able to buy typical everyday items in order to have proper hygiene.
We aim to distribute comprehensive hygiene kits to students and their families. Each kit will be tailored to meet the needs of different age groups and family sizes.
By addressing these basic needs, we hope to reduce absenteeism and foster a healthier, more supportive learning environment.
