My Project
Hydroponics, growing food crops and plants without soil, is seen by many as a way to bring agriculture to urban environments. With these materials my students will be able to develop experiments, design solutions to real world problems, and have fun growing their own food.
These hydroponics materials will show my students the intersection of technology, engineering, and biology.
Students will be responsible for designing their own experiments, monitoring water chemistry, and applying what they have learned in their science classes in this real-world engineering challenge. Showing my students additional ways that future generations could grow food crops is especially relevant with our current global challenges including climate change and will help inspire them to solve today and tomorrow's challenges.
