This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My primary goal for this project is to transform our botany curriculum from theoretical learning to active, inquiry-based exploration. I want my students to move beyond textbooks and truly understand the intricate processes of plant biology through direct interaction. This hydroponics project will provide my students with a unique and engaging platform to channel their natural curiosity, develop critical scientific skills, and cultivate a deeper understanding of the vital role plants play in our ecosystem.

By managing their own hydroponic garden, my students will develop a sense of ownership and responsibility, and learn valuable data collection and analysis skills.

This project aims to foster collaboration and teamwork as students work together to maintain the system, troubleshoot challenges, and share their findings. Ultimately, I envision this hydroponics kit serving as a dynamic learning laboratory, inspiring the next generation of botanists and environmental stewards.
