My Project

My students love hands-on learning, especially when it involves growing, building, or experimenting. What I admire most is their resilience and teamwork—whether they're troubleshooting why a seed didn’t sprout or celebrating a tiny green shoot together. Many come from diverse backgrounds and don’t always have access to STEM resources outside of school, so these classroom opportunities mean the world to them.

We are starting a hydroponic experiment to explore which seed starter materials work best in Rapid Root Planting Pods for growing flowers, vegetables, and herbs.

This project will allow students to test different types of hydroponic-friendly seed starters—like sponges, plugs, or organic soil-based options—and track which ones promote the healthiest growth. They will form hypotheses, observe daily changes, record data, and reflect on their findings. It’s a true STEM investigation that combines science, critical thinking, and environmental awareness.

To make this possible, we’re requesting:

A variety of seeds for testing plant growth

Hydroponic seed starter materials for comparative testing

Rapid Root Planting Pods with organic soil ingredients

Gentle, fragrance-free soap so students can wash up frequently without skin irritation

The soap is a small but important part—our students wash their hands often to stay safe and clean during hands-on work, and many have sensitive skin. Providing non-stripping soap helps them stay comfortable while learning.

Your support will help my students grow not just plants, but also confidence, curiosity, and a sense of environmental responsibility. Thank you for helping bring real science into their hands and hearts.
