I teach high school special education students who need access to learn real world life skills to help them post-graduation. This project will help my students will find success in learning how to grow their own food using the Tower Garden Hydroponic Growing System, seeds and accessories and then how to choose healthy eating and cooking options.
I want to provide my students the opportunity to learn how to grow their own food in a traditional ground garden AND this new hydroponic way, then put it to use in the kitchen by preparing easy, healthy meals.
I also plan to teach my students how to cook meals using produce grown from their garden. They will use the cookbooks to which meals to prepare and gather other ingredients from the grocery story. Students will use the air fryer and the slow cooker to cook the meals. The paper plates and plastic utensils are so the students are able to enjoy the healthy meals they have prepared.
