My Students

My robotics students are inquisitive, creative, and thoughtful 7th and 8th graders. Our campus is a 7th and 8th-grade middle school that has diverse students from four elementary schools. My students absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging ways to incorporate robotics. They do challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! My students range from gifted and talented to special education functional academics and everywhere in between.

This has been a very difficult time to create hands-on activities for them to complete with distance learning.

My students have been logging on each day ready to try new things and to take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.

These requested items will be beneficial throughout the entire year and will allow our students to compete in robotics competitions. They will be used yearly. I will be splitting kits into mini kits to deliver to students that are doing online learning.

My Project

This project will provide my robotics students hydraulic robotic arms to build together! These kits include everything we need to design and build hydraulic robotic arms. This will help my students learn hydraulics in a hands-on way.

These kits will allow up to 5 students to work together to design and build a hydraulic arm.

Students range from gifted and talented to students with high functioning Autism - they all work together and learn invaluable lessons along the way of teamwork.

We are also learning about AR and VR technology. The Oculus VR headset will help students learn and experience this technology for the first time.
