My Project
We are a Title I-funded school district, meaning our community has a high economic need. I love my students because they come from diverse backgrounds, and I enjoy learning from them just as they enjoy learning from me! Our school is unique because of our diverse staff and student body. Our school district can best be described as one happy family. Thirty-three languages are spoken throughout the district. My students are special because they are immersed in an environment where we teach them academics and how to embrace the diverse student body.
I also enjoy teaching my young scholars about living healthily and making healthy choices that will keep their bodies and minds strong.
As a marathoner and someone who lives a healthy lifestyle, I enjoy being a positive example for my students, and the resources in this project will help me support healthy choices at school.
Currently our students do not have access to water fountains because COVID-19, and other viruses are still a concern at school. I am requesting water so my students can have water in class if they need water. I notice when water is available, my students will drink it. Having water will keep them hydrated and their bodies healthy, which means they will be at school instead of home because they are not feeling well.
Additionally, I am requesting small snacks, BelVita Blueberry Breakfast Biscuits, and Nuetella Packs I can give to students if they arrive late, and need something quick to eat for breakfast.
