Hydrating Minds and Bodies

Help me give my students water bottles to stay hydrated in a school where water stations are no longer in use.

My Students

My students may come from meager means, humble homes, and fractured families, but they come eager and excited to learn. My Title I school houses students K-8 and provides each and everyone with not only breakfast and lunch but a classroom that serves as a home.

They are not just my students, but my family, and each year I am lucky enough to begin a school year with new members.

While my family continues to grow, their needs continue to be met with proper support and dedication.

My Project

Each day, I try to take my students outside for mask brakes. I encourage my class to run around and move their bodies. My students really know how to work up a sweat! In a building that does not have air conditioning or working hydration stations, I have had to provide my students with water bottles each and every day. After about a week of going through one too many plastic bottles, I decided that there had to be a better way to keep my students' thirst quenched throughout the day.

Water bottles will allow my students to access water throughout the day with an option to refill when needed.

Using water bottles will reduce the waste caused from plastic bottles. Having a readily available cup will also limit disruption, allowing students to "take a sip" throughout the day.
