I teach Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies to some of the brightest, most resilient 5th students you will ever meet. Their determination and eagerness to learn makes teaching them a true joy. Our hometown and school were devastated by Hurricane Michael on October 10, 2018. My classroom was completely destroyed and had a new found "sky light" after the storm. With water and wind ravaging through our classroom, most all of my classroom supplies, organizational items, and technology were destroyed. My sweet students have proven to be stronger than you could ever imagine. Even in a temporary location, sharing large rooms with the entire grade level, they continued to press forward and strive for excellence.
My Project
These Chromebooks will enable students to access several of our research based, standards-aligned computer programs that we purchased site licenses for at the beginning of the school year. These programs are used for enrichment and remediation of grade level standards during reading and math stations.
The Chromebooks that were once in my classroom were destroyed by the water that came into my classroom when the roof came off during Hurricane Michael.
It is my hope that I will be able to supply my students with the technology and materials they need to be successful in fifth grade. With your generosity, this can be accomplished!
