Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class and I would like to send a classroom care package to the children devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
I currently teach fifth grade in the South Bronx, a poor community often in need. However, my students are very charitable and do not see the extent of their own living conditions. This would be a great opportunity to empower them. To teach them that they can make a difference, not only in their own community, but on a larger scale. They will create a care package for a child their age with a personalized card.
