My Students
Hurricane Harvey took a heavy toll on our little community. The recovery process is slow and difficult.
The majority of our students are still displaced, living in campers, makeshift homes, or in single-family homes that are now being used for multiple-families.
Our school has many children who come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. We are classified as a Title I school. In addition, some of our students have learning disabilities, including ADD, ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia. Their needs are many and varied.
My Project
These iPads are essential tools for today. Technology enhances the growth and development of the skills of my students in both reading and math. Due to Hurricane Harvey, our school flooded along with our materials used to help students become successful learners. Although we have moved into portable buildings, the technology is very limited.
By donating to my project, you are giving my students access to technology, allowing those who are struggling in reading and math to use computer-based programs designed to help them be more successful students.
The use of programs like iStation, Moby Max, Renaissance, Mindplay, Symphony Math, Ascend Math, and many others will help my students to fill gaps in reading and math, and develop important skills.
