My students are the youngest in the school and yet are expected to learn so much in the short two and a half hours that I have them. They come to school so energetic and excited and I want that energy and excitement to transfer to their learning.
My students love hands on activities and they learn better when they are playing while learning.
I have students with a wide range of academic levels. Some are well above grade level, some are on grade level and some are well below grade level. Every student benefits from hands-on materials in the classroom regardless of their current knowledge.
My Project
In this age of technology, handwriting has been left to the wayside. However, studies have shown that handwriting is a way for students to solidify information into their brains. My students are just learning how to write.
My goal is to make learning the correct pencil grip and hand strengthening exercises into a fun, exciting part of our day!
I want my students look forward to handwriting so they will be motivated to learn correct letter and number formation. Their hands get tired from gripping the pencil and writing for about 15 minutes. I want them to gain writing stamina and stronger fingers.
