My Students

We are a public Title I school. We are located in LA, in a suburb of New Orleans. Our school is one of the top performing academic schools in the country. Despite our rigorous academic requirements, our students have continually made strides year in and year out on the athletic field.

Our school system provides zero funds to support athletic programs.

All money used for athletics is done through fundraising. Unlike other school who can go to distinguished alumni, our school of 620 students in grades 6-12, has only been open since 2004. Our alum are just starting their lives and don’t have the funds yet to make substantial donations. On top of that we have no facilities to sell advertising, concessions or game admissions.

My Project

We have a solid track program. We have many young up and coming athletes who have already made a big impact on our program.

Our hurdlers practice with old broken rusty hurdles.

These new hurdles will help them improve their form and technique more efficiently. And the new higher quality javelin will increase our throwers distance on their throws.

Our varsity girls track team has won district two years in a row and is looking to repeat this year. Our middle school team is also back to back parish champions.

Our boys team is also very strong having been district runner-ups the past two years.

We as a coaching staff are always trying to make the experience better for our athletes. By providing them with quality equipment we can do that. With the addition of this new equipment we can continue the success we have already experienced.
