My Students

I am a 3rd year teacher that is moving to teach Kindergarten next year! Teaching is my passion & working with the littlest learners is what I have always felt called to do. My classroom has always been full of energy & innovation. I go to work daily with the hope I can give each and every one of my students a loving, safe environment to learn!

I teach Kindergarten at a Title I school in Texas, where we are still recovering for the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey.

Most of the students in my district lived through a rough time in their short lives due to the Hurricane in 2017. However, these students are resilient & eager to learn. Many of these children lost everything in the storm, are still displaced, & unfortunately lacking basic necessities, but they show up every morning trying their best to smile. My students are survivors & they deserve the best!

My Project

I am so excited each morning to welcome my group of Kindergartners. Our school provides free breakfast and lunch to ALL of the students every day. But my little people eat lunch very early in the day.

After long days filled with learning, my students are often hungry and it is a long time between lunch and the end of the day.

I would love to be able to provide snacks, such as fruit snacks, Cheez-It Crackers, Goldfish crackers, and Quaker Chewy Granola Bars, to my students when they get hungry in the afternoon.

And, believe me, they are hungry!!

Having these individually wrapped foods on hand will also allow me to offer a quick snack if someone comes in hungry in the morning. I love being able to have snacks on hand for my students. Research has proven that children whose needs are not met can not focus on learning. Students who have empty tummies cannot learn! Please help me fill these little bellies!
