Help me give my students Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps, Cap'n Crunch Crunch Berries Cereal, Froot Loops Cereal, Pop Tarts, Applesauce, Fruit Snacks and much more to fill their empty bellies.
My students are funny, smart and try so hard to learn and please their teacher. My class is diverse and there are many students whose first language is not English. Having hands-on tools available to them is crucial to the success of their learning. They love exploring and being creative in their learning. Some of their favorite things to do are STEM activities and of course, art. I have some of the most creative first graders!
Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most important weapon which you can use to change the world." I hope that through the education my students receive, this is something they will take away at the end of the year.
My students especially love it when I bring out the hands-on learning tools available in our classroom. It is so fun to watch their minds grow and expand as they are manipulating objects that help to solidify the difficult concepts taught in first grade. In addition to teaching my students content from the core, I am trying to teach them that education is powerful, that it will get them anywhere they want to go and that it will help them to change the world.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of easy, quick snack foods to give to my students when they are hungry. Our lunch is early in the day, meaning that by our second recess the kids are starving! Hungry students means little to no learning takes place. Additionally, hungry kids sometimes forget to make responsible choices. If I have snacks on hand I can quickly take care of one of their most basic needs.
It is important to me that my students have food in their bellies, hungry kids simply can not learn.
I am also asking for some fun, silly prize box toys to use when students go above and beyond in the classroom. These toys will help encourage students to continue making the right choices in the classroom.
