My Students
Do you remember the first book you read that you truly enjoyed? I want to give my students, my very first, the ability to say they've enjoyed a novel they read in school. I believe "The Hunger Games" will do just that.
My students are from the heart of North Carolina and are from varying diversities and backgrounds.
Literature has done more for me in life than nearly anything else. Many students never get the thrill of truly enjoying a novel. I read "The Hunger Games" nearly a year ago and knew instantly that this was a novel that nearly everyone could find interest in. It's often hard to relate reading materials to every student, but with this novel, I think I've found a novel that's as close as it gets. If you would be so kind as to choose to donate to my project, I am requesting 35 copies of the novel to ensure that every student in my class can have a copy to read.
This is my first year teaching and all I can think of is making an impact on my students.
The biggest impact I can think of is to introduce them to literature they will enjoy. Your donations could help a high school student fall in love with reading.
